While Bellhop Pros can disassemble and reassemble furniture, you may choose to expedite the duration of your move (and therefore save money) by taking apart furniture yourself. Here are some tips for furniture disassembly and assembly:
- Plan time to break down furniture that will be too large to fit through doorways, down staircases, or inside elevators.
- Keep all hardware and screws in clearly labeled plastic bags.
- Bellhop Pros cannot disassemble workout equipment, so plan to do this task yourself or make other arrangements for your heavy gym equipment.
- Bellhop Pros cannot dismount TVs or other pieces of furniture/equipment that are mounted to your walls. Be sure to have any items dismounted and packed up prior to your movers' arrival.
Equipment, Tools, and Blankets
If your order contains hourly labor services, your team will not come equipped with tools. Our pros are skilled at moving, not out-of-the-box assembly. However, as long as you have the tools and instructions, they will be willing to help (though we cannot disassemble or re-assemble gym equipment, large or specialty items like bunk beds, Sleep Number beds, appliances, or electronics).
If you ordered a local or long-distance move with a Bellhop-provided truck, the pros will be equipped with a tool set and moving equipment, such as dollies and blankets.
Please note that as a standard, Bellhop trucks will arrive with 20-25 moving blankets to pad and wrap your furniture items. If you would like more blankets used during your move, please provide your crew with additional blankets when they arrive on your move day.
