If there's one thing that can dampen spirits on move day, it's bad weather. Here's what to do if it strikes.
Severe Weather Warnings
We understand that unexpected things happen, and that severe weather can seriously impact a customer's moving plans. In cases of severe weather, defined as a "Warning" level or higher by the National Weather Service, customers may reschedule a move up to 1 hour before the move start time without any penalties or fees.
If a customer reschedules or cancels due to a Severe Weather Warning at least 1 hour before the move start time, the customer will pay no fees, and the Pros assigned to that move are not eligible for Late Cancellation Pay.
However, if a customer reschedules or cancels within 1 hour of the start time, even if there is a National Weather Service Warning for the area, Pros assigned to that move may be eligible for Late Cancellation Pay in line with our standard Late Cancellation policy.
If there is not a Severe Weather Warning for your area, you should assume that the customer will proceed with the move unless you hear otherwise from Bellhop HQ or see the move canceled or rescheduled in the Bellhop Pro App.
What if the move has already started?
-
If you're on a move and weather turns south and could result in unsafe conditions for your team, or damages to the customer's items, then take a short 15 minute break. (Just let us know, and we'll take this time off the customer's bill.)

If the weather persists, reach out to Pro Operations through the Bellhop app and let us know if the move can't go on. Our Customer Support team will work with the customer to reschedule.
