We strive to be as flexible as possible when it comes to booking, rescheduling, and cancelling your move. In certain cases, we may need to retain your deposit and/or charge a fee for a late cancellation: this fee is to properly compensate our Pros, Carriers, and Preferred Partners who were booked for your move and turned away other business in order to service your move.
Our deposit and cancellation fee policy depends on your move type and when you booked.
For Local Moves:
Should you need to cancel your service, you can do so free of charge up to 72 hours before your reservation date.
If you cancel within 72 hours of your reservation date, you will forfeit your previously collected 10% deposit and be charged a $200 late cancellation fee.
For Local Rush Bookings:
Local Rush Bookings, which are moves booked within 72 hours of the move start time, represent a special case where our Pros, Carriers, and Preferred Partners have extra capacity and want to fill up their schedules as much as possible at the last minute.
If you have booked your move less than 72 hours before the move start, you can cancel your move risk free up to 3 hours before your start time. As long as you provide at least 3 hours notice prior to your move start time, we will fully refund your deposit and waive any late cancellation fees.
For Long Distance Moves:
Long Distance customers may cancel free of charge up to 72 hours before your move starts. If you need to cancel, please reach out directly to your designated Move Success Agent, or reach out to our Support team at support@bellhop.com for assistance.
For Long Distance moves canceled within 72 hours of the move start time, we will retain your 10% deposit plus an additional $700 Truck Cancellation Fee. This fee is applied to compensate our long distance truck carriers whose job boards connect routes crossing multiple states and thousands of miles.
